There can be no argument that these instruments are top quality - the finishes are excellent and all the hardware is also first class. The J-Bass comes in two models, the Standard model, and the Export model.

The Export model is easily identified by it’s bridge(1) which is more substantial than the Jazz Bass style(2) fitted to the J-Bass Standard. You can see this in the photographs.

The handmade necks were also made in two varieties - the standard neck(3) with round dot markers, and the limited edition neck(4) which had block markers. Be aware that there are prototype block marker necks without the limited edition markings(5).

All of the J-Basses had through body stringing(6) - if it has not got that, then it is not a Signature Bass, even though it may have a Signature neck.
