There can be no argument that these instruments are top quality - the finishes are excellent and all the hardware is also first class. The J-Bass comes in two models, the Standard model, and the Export model.

The Export model is easily identified by it’s bridge⁽¹⁾ which is more substantial than the Jazz Bass style⁽²⁾ fitted to the J-Bass Standard. You can see this in the photographs.

The handmade necks were also made in two varieties - the standard neck⁽³⁾ with round dot markers, and the limited edition neck⁽⁴⁾ which had block markers. Be aware that there are prototype block marker necks without the limited edition markings⁽⁵⁾.

All of the J-Basses had through body stringing⁽⁶⁾ - if it has not got that, then it is not a Signature Bass, even though it may have a Signature neck.
